It's still ridiculous the amount of money head coaches get paid, but man it's really a 24/7/365 job. I would go crazy not getting any away time from work. I enjoy the outdoors too much.
These camps are extremely important for our program. It seems like Beamer's personality is a huge bonus as well during these camps. I keep hearing great things from those around the situation.
I took my son up to a 1day High School camp he had last year. There must have been 2-300 kids there. Maybe more. And they had 7-10 days to choose from. Some talented recruits were there as well. They received a little more attention but everyone did the same drills for their position.
it was from 9-2. They had a quick lunch break. They were all measured and timed in speed drills. And received a camp tshirt. All for like $22 bucks. It was a great experience for high school kids that enjoy football and competing.
I’m guessing it’s a great way for USC to fill a data base of young HS kids. Oh. They also have invite only type of camps.

I'm not sure about football, but up until somewhere around 2007 or 2008 some of the other sports would have a week long (5 day) camp where the kids would stay overnights in the Bates Dorm. They'd have three meals and two sessions of workouts and drills with a final day of scrimmages. My oldest daughter did that with softball. Ran about $550.00 if memory serves. Well worth it imo. Hated to see it end. Really gave the kids a taste of college.
