Blackshear's twitter response

Re: Blackshear...for God's sake son!

Two eyewitnesses.....Value of items stolen $1,390 dollars....But yes, it was probably just the police screwing up. I'm sure he was home watching TV the whole time...After all he is a star player...

I've followed Carolina football since 1960 and can't ever recall a recruiting period that has been as weird as this one. We've had a little dark cloud that just won't go away Virtually anything that could go wrong did go wrong.. Come to think of it the whole football year has been that way too.

The problem we have is social media where cans of there schools can get on any tweeter account or fan site and twist the truth or piss off players under any school or fans of schools...

The whole arrest seems very strange and I don't know the whole story behind all of this...

Its best let it play out.. We don't have video or a credible eyewitness...

That is it world. I wasnt sure if I should link something from a competing site here. Its seems pretty legitimate based on the individuals' responses to the original post

Re: What if the charges are dropped against Blackshear? What will

I would expect to see him in a Gamecock uniform, if charges are dropped. Probably be on a very short leash though.

Re: Blackshear...for God's sake son!

I have not seen in any of the news reports that he was accused or arrested for breaking into a house.

Post the link...

I don't think it's his tweeter account...
I don't do Twitter and am not privy to it's nuances.....could this be a feeble attempt by someone up at Ben Tillman U to
distract folks from recent racial tensions up there? I wouldn't put it past that 40 plus-person-staff in the recruiting dept. They need something to keep them busy this time of year.

Just for clarity I think it was an Instagram account and not Twitter but I've read several places that he has deleted it now at any rate.

WOW, Athenscock1, we became Carolina fans about the same time. That is the year I started following the Gamecocks.

Attending the University of South Carolina is a privilege

Attending the University of South Carolina is a privilege, not a right. If the reports are accurate, his scholarship should be revoked. I would rather watch my team lose with character than win with players who lack it.

I know UNC Chapel Hill's image has been tarnished as well, but in a recent interview, Roy Williams said, "Coach smith told me he could handle losing if his teams played well." I feel the same way about the University of South Carolina; if our coaches recruit men of character who excel in the classroom, better their communities, and compete on the field, I can handle the losses.

If the twitter/instagram reports are accurate, I agree, his scholarship should be revoked. Even if he's found not guilty in court, do you really want someone of that character on ANY varsity sports team at USC?

Delete all he wants but screen grabs are still going to be around. Not happy about the response he put for all to see. If it was the other way around we know what would happen.

Anybody can view his twitter account, NONE of those comments are present on there now, nor were they last night... He could have deleted them, or they could have been postd by someone who hacked him... Or it could all be BS. We might ought to just let HIM respond to what happened, talk to our admin, go to court.... Before we all start hanging the kid.

I know that won't happen... Everyone around here loves to rush to judgement and attack our players of any hint of imperfection... But it would be nice if some of our posters could keep their mouths shut and wait for information to come out before the trash a future player like this. Some of ya'll take this stuff waaaayyyy too serious.

We should be thinking of these kids as members of our extended family. I wouldn't disown a relative for one indiscretion and I wish more of our fans could look at it from that perspective. This is someone's CHILD and our coaches made a promise to him that they would take his commitment, teach him how to be a team player, teach him how to be a man, hell him get an education... It is a serious step to take all that away and we better be damn sure this kid is a lost cause before we do it.

Not what happened...maybe know the actual facts before hiding behind your keyboard and pecking out your BS.
I think all of us would like to know the actual facts. Apparently you know, like to share?
It's called reading and watching the news. He did not go into someone's house when they weren't home.

For those who say wait and see what really happened. You are just waiting for his coaches, family and support group to spin this thing..They may even be able to get the charges dropped... Bottom line: The police had enough evidence to arrest him for a felony...End of story...cut him loose from the Gamecock program...
No, I'm not. You do not speak for me. I do not wish for spinning - just the truth.

Assuming you are correct and the BCSD (Beaufort County Sheriff's Dept) has the evidence, I hope it's presented in court. No plea bargains, no dropped charges. If he's found guilty, give him an appropriate sentence.

Re: What if the charges are dropped against Blackshear? What will

I have a screen shot that was sent to me from his Instagram before it was deleted. I'm on mobile site and not going thru the trouble of posting such garbage. Be naive if you want but if he will post racist stuff like that on a public forum then USC may be better off without him.

you better talk to Ray Tanner.

He didn't handle a situation where someone stole something the way you suggest. He didn't wait for the court case either.
