Bojangles' near stadium to relocate down Bluff Road

The Bojangles' on Bluff Road, which is frequented by students during USC football games, is moving, according to The State. The restaurant is set to move a block east where the former Price Bananas was located.

The new building will be approximately 4,300 square feet and located at 1130 Bluff Road.

The old Price Bananas building will be torn down, and the time it will take to build the new Bojangles' has not yet been released. It is unclear what will happen to the existing Bojangles' building.

I would imagine there is pressure from the university to buy the lot. Did they ever settle with that lady who held out the piece of the old plant nursery where Carolina Park is now?

An article in the State newspaper's Business section quoted a university spokesperson that USC is considering, among other options, premium parking for the property - apparently, the current Bojangles will be demolished.

So long to the Bojangles sign at the main entrance to Gamecock Park as well as USC's information marqee sign across the street (to make room for the new stadium courtyard). Also good riddance to the Price Bananas Building. It has become an eyesore in recent years and its location (just before you get to W-B on your right when going north on Bluff Road), made a poor introduction to the stadium area. There was also talk at one time of leasing the Price Building to a strip Club! Now, wouldn't THAT have been a lovely thing to explain to your kids/grandkids?

Doesn't seem like a smart financial move.
Not knowing, maybe lease is up and not being renewed. Or Bojangles wants a new building, that one has been there for a while. I would imagine the existing building will be torn down.

Not to my knowledge. The last time I was out that way (several months ago) that enclosure fence was still there. Imo, USC should implement Emminent Domain rights and MAKE her sell it. Watching little kids on gamedays playing football on the green space around that fenced obtrusion, dodging, often just barely running into that barrier gives me heart pains. For safety, aesthetics and common sense (she will never be able to park a Cock-a-Boose in that slot), that fence needs to come down.

I don't think that is how imminent domain works.

USC appears to be going after the cockabooses now. Guess they'll end up being party places for the big donors.

Nothing against Bojangles but I never liked having that much orange anywhere near Williams-Brice.

I don't know of any plans by the university to purchase the Cock-a-Booses located immediately south of W-B.

Pressure? or negotiations? Doesn't USC sell Bo Jangles inside their stadiums? Also it's only one block away and they will get a nice new building. If someone really wants Bo Jangles on Game Day is someone really going to say, "I'd go to that Bo Jangles if it was only one block this way?"

I agree. If I want Uncle Bo Bo's I'll walk an extra block or few to get it. Or I'll stop at another one on the way in. I wonder how close it's going to be to Bernie's?

Great....they won't be cranking music with obscene lyrics into the premium lots anymore. I had to ask them to turn the speakers towards bojangles last year because we could not hear ourselves.

They're only moving Bojangles like 300 yards down the street

Yeah, letting the government take things from people is a great idea. USA! USA! USA!

The woman who owns that spot was a property speculator and wanted an outrageous amount of money for what amounts to maybe 50 sq feet of land. Asking fair value on property you make an investment in is one thing, but price gouging is something completely different.

Frankly if I ran Carolina park, Id located all my porta-poties along that fence line around her spot.
