Welcome to another edition of Gamecock Central Braves Baseball ⚾️ Chat 💬. I am your host @Pfunk Cock along with a plethora of regular participants in the chat.
Happy Memorial Day and thank you 🙏🏿 for your service and sacrifices that soldiers and their families have endured.
Roster Moves:
Huascar Ynoa moved to 60 day IL to clear a roster spot.
Almonte activated and will play LF
The Braves have been hit and cold all season. The only consistency has been inconsistency 🤔. The team cannot seem to sustain good play. They are night and day and it has become worrisome. The batters are inconsistent the bullpen abysmal and starting pitching runs hot and cold. Today the Braves will throw their high profile free agent acquisition Charlie Morton. He seems to have come around with his control lately and hopefully the long layoff because of poor weather does not derail his progress. He seems to have rediscovered his release point on his breaking balls and that helps to elevate his fastball and other pitches. The Nationals will counter with Joe Ross. Acuna, Freeman and Swanson have hit him well. Riley is 0-3 and most of the others have not faced him. Albies is 4-6 facing him. Those numbers would be nice for the Braves chances of victory this evening.
Starting Lineup
Acuna RF
Freeman 1B
Albies 2B
Riley 3B
Swanson SS
Almonte LF
Contreras C
Heredia CF
Morton RHP
First pitch 5:15 EST
Broadcasting:
