What have you seen? It's just as much on Freddie as it is the Braves. Braves offered 5yrs and he wanted 6yrs. He's a multimillionaire, if he wanted to continue to be a Brave, he could have signed and not worried about having a 6th year.Still not happy with how the Braves did Freeman if the reports are true.
But still like all other moves I've seen them make.
GO BRAVES!
Exactly. This complaining about a 6th year was non sense. If he’s still productive in 5 years, he will sign another contract. If he’s not, then he won’t be playing baseball anyway. He was offered more money per season and would pay less taxes with Atlanta, and he still chose to leave.I think Braves told Freddie and his agents the 6th year wasn’t on the table and wasn’t an option.
I think Freddie’s agents called their bluff and the Braves (I think sensing they were going to do that) had the best dang Plan B in place that you could imagine.
I personally think who did Freddie wrong was his agent and I think if you listen to him talk yesterday talking about how caught off guard he was it proves that point even more.
Nothing but live for Freddy but I think his team under estimated the shrewdness of the Braves front office
Good read on how it went down from Chipper! https://tomahawktake.com/2022/03/18...RRCKAdIny9ibI3tBPlazIS6BqVpuIQHWdVsw1DA4_ueN4I think Braves told Freddie and his agents the 6th year wasn’t on the table and wasn’t an option.

I don’t think that is uncommon in the world of baseball. They grabbed Olson without even giving Freeman a head's up. Didn't give one to Snitker either.
