Calipari coach of the year?....

Yes, I'm sure you'd all be highly successful

at convincing a bunch of high school superstars to play 25 minutes and score 10 points per game, and to play elite defense.

After all, coaches get to a 38-0 record, what, once every couple of years, right?

I'm gonna have to go with crouterhead on this one. It's not easy to get 10 players used to being "the guy" to play maybe half a game and score ten points every single night. Especially considering they're all basketball players, a notoriously egotistical bunch. Calipari deserves credit just for maintaining the group's cohesion, if nothing else.

I can't see a way not to give him props if he pulls off a 40-0 season with all those egos. Period.

No question. He took an entire team of guys that would play 25-30 minutes or more on any roster and a team of players that should all be in the NBA and got them to buy into a system, play disciplined and resilient and not lose a game. He convinced guys that would have been drafted last year to come back to make this season something special.

Calipari is easily the Coach of the Year. This is a once in a generation team and season. The conference, competition and team composure change drastically next season.

His first and second string is an NBA team. And Kentucky is the chosen one with the refs. They should be dominating everyone.

Thanks Crouter, a knowledgeable poster.

Sometimes I believe some posters have no idea what it takes to built a " team" in competitive sports

what a bonehead move to slow the tempo down and milk the clock with about 8 minutes left in the game and a slim lead. They allowed Wisc's players to rest and only had to play defense for the last 5 seconds of the shot the clock. They should have used their depth to push the tempo higher, not slow it down. SMH.

I edited my post... you already embarrass yourself daily.. why should I add to it

sorry

Yeah. They ran into a ref crew that only gave them 80% of the calls instead of 99% of the calls. Kuck Fentucky.

Is a great coach one who takes 5* blue chip athletes and wins or one who takes good athletes and actually coaches and develops talent and wins? C'mon Man!!!

Again, 2 strings of NBA players and he loses to a team with 10 white guys on it.

Coach of the year?

I'm pretty sure the coach of the year was on that court, but it wasn't Calipari.

What is it with you and pointing out the color of the wisky players over and over... give it a rest. Its not like Wisconsin's team isn't an extremely talented and cohesive group themselves.

You do know that Frank Kaminsky is a lottery pick, right?
