Carolina beats Clemson again

Haven't seen anything here yet about the Gamecocks beating the Tigers in the first annual Palmetto Series all sports competition. Cocks won 10 points to 5.....wasn't even close. Strong year for Carolina athletics. Carolina even won the academic point for higher overall athletic GPA....even though the Farmers seem to believe they are academically superior.

Like you say, not even close....this is a really good reflection on our athletic dept, esp regarding the academics of the athletes.

We also scored higher than them in the Learfield Sports Director's Cup rankings.

And we're the ones who get laughed at for following sports "no one cares about".

If you count the actual head to head matchups, we won 7-6. If you add the golf then it would be 10-6. But to me, golf is hard to count because you play against a field and not just one opponent. But either way, we won the series for the past year. Go Cocks!!!!!

True, but score was kept in this between the two schools. You and I both know that our fan bases don't give a crap what sport it is, a win against the rival is important.

This was the only way to measure all of the programs at once, and USC won the first one.

We beat them in debate when I was in school and I was happy. A win against CU in ANYTHING - debate, blood drive, Greek competitions, sports - is a GREAT thing.

The Tigers are saying we may have cheated to beat them. How would raising our grades gradually have to do with it? They can't go back and change this as A guy I work with thinks can they?

What about the consistently improvement of incoming SAT scores?

Face it. As demand for enrollment at USC goes up, we are getting a better selection of students. The SAT numbers have shown this.

Basically what the article tells me is that Palms did a piss poor job here and Sorenson, may he rest in peace, didn't really do that much better.
