CFP OR BOWL BOUND?

The Playoff spokesman who ESPN's Fowler spoke with does not instill confidence that this is a very insightful panel of individuals sitting on the committee.

It looks like it's going to be very traditional-based decision making with little nuisance or individual thought process.

Crappy Sports Politics.

You could also tell Fowler was a little frustrated in this regard.

Last week I watched his SEC network call-in show and he specifically told a Carolina caller he would choose us over Bama and Ole Miss in the CFP IF we beat Clemson. He also agreed we got hosed in the LSU game. Now a week later and he magically changes his tune.

I would never expect him to be consistent.

That being said, i am not surprised H2H was valued. We would expect the same if we had won the game.

We got hosed. Like always. Got to be like the Republican moto next year. Win too big to rig. We will always get hosed unless we leave absolutely no way they can leave us out. Hope we can keep our key players in the portal

Couple of things:
1. Definitely pulling for SMU over Clemson now. I see no way that any outcome in that game puts us in.
2. Win the bowl, finish in the Top 15, maybe in the Top 10, and start building a reputation under Beamer for future years.

We outperformed BAMA in every statistical category in their building with a fraction of the talent as 2 TD underdogs.

They get smoked by the team we smoked (OU) just two weeks ago and never score an offensive touchdown in the game.

They also lost to Vandy who we smoked.

I'd feel better about getting squeezed out by Ole Miss than BAMA.

Blue blood home cooking.

Why Bama over Ole Miss? If H2H is end all.

Those two didn't play this year, right? So there's no h2h, and you HAVE to go to other deciding factors.

Also, I'm not necessarily saying h2h is the end all, but with the same record, it's the first and best disntiguisher. Other circumstances would need to be VERY compelling.

For us and Bama, they had h2h, SOS and a better marquee win. And worse losses. That doesnt scream VERY compelling for us.

Right, they didn't play. Why Bama over them was my question. Ole Miss blasted us on road, Bama barely got by us at home. Had two bad losses like Bama. I guess Bama beating UGA was clincher. And most importantly because they're Bama.

But Ole miss beat UGA too. So I am curious what decides between the two. SOS? They each have the marquee win, dies Ole Miss have worse losses?

Or is it just the name "bama".

Saban might have made a call to the committee for Bama. Maybe some pockets of committee members were greased. Losses to weaker teams vs losses to stronger teams = makes no difference to the committee, apparently. Finebaum loves the sound of his own voice. He ain’t as smart as he thinks he is.

Who decides who gets on the conmittee?

May as well have Don King in charge.
