I made the same comment too. I'm betting a months pay he doesn't get kicked off. How many veteran PK's do you have on a team? Especially one that was a finalist for the Lou Groza award.
The last guy that got kicked off was arrested for financial fraud, not a dangerous crime, just stealing money from a company or someone. However, a DUI is a WHOLE nother thing though, he could have wound up killing someone had he not been stopped.
If he does get kicked off, the taters will be claiming dumbo is tough with discipline, if he doesn't get kicked off, it will immediately switch to, "well, he deserved another chance since it was his first arrest, everyone deserves a second chance".
Poor Officer...somebody is going to be looking for a new job....

Translation is: "we need a veteran PK with experience and therefore he will definitely not be kicked off the team, and we will defer his penalties until the season starts so that it will give time for everybody to forget about the arrest."
The only strange thing about it was the delay in announcing it. His arrest was almost 3 weeks ago.
Newspaper reports in most college towns usually uncover stuff from police reports within 24 hours after they are filed. This was filed 6/11.
I really don't believe most of the reporters that cover Clemson want to find out the info these days.

This has been going on for a long time. Wille Simmons got arrested and it wasn't reported for a month. Around the same time Derek Watson got arrested and it was front page news. I asked MoRon why when a Carolina player got arrested it was front page news the next day and the starting QB at Clemsux being arrested was on page 6 a month later, his response was, "we made a mistake there." The whole situation has been a joke for a long time. Clemsux finally found someone since Danny to take advantage of it. That's y they love him.

When Barry Humphries got his 3rd DUI, it took a whole month before it was made public. If one of our athletes so much as spits on the pavement in front of a cop, the people in Bangladesh can read about it in their local paper within a couple hours. Ok, maybe an exaggeration, but the point remains that bad news about USC athletes is made public within a couple hours of the event. Bad news about tater athletes can take as much as a month to become public, IF it even becomes public. When you operate in a vacuum in a little podunk county and have virtual control over the media outlets, and some control over the local PD, you can do things that way.
I remember that about Humphries. It was toward the end of the season.

Male reporters assigned to covering Clemson have turned in their mancard and have checked their balls at the front office. Clemson has made it clear to these wussy ass media types that they better get in lockstep with the Clemson way or they'll no longer have access.

Its because we're in the SEC and on a national stage. Nobody cares whats happens at a mediocre ACC school. I know I know they finally beat us after 6 years of trying but things will be back to normal this year

What about former defensive end Jamie Cumbie? He beat up the grandson of a former Clemson president so bad the guy almost died. It made the Greenville News sports section weeks after it happened as an excerpt in the back. Also Cumbie was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and ended up with no jail time.
Over the past few weeks, folks over here were extolling the virtues of S.Car's policy of immediate suspension from team activities (which resulted in few, if any, games missed) as opposed to Clemson typically suspending for games.. Now, it seems the tide has changed and only game suspensions matter. I am asking not to flame, but because I do not recall, how many games did Devonte Holloman, Dustin Lindsey and Scott Morgan miss after their DUI arrests?
