Look, it may go well but this excites me. I think they’ll drop off defensively without a doubt, but will still win a ton of games. Offensively they dropped off a bit this year and I hope they continue to drop.

Either way they didn’t go out and make a splash.

Very underwhelming hires.

I love that daboTheClown forced clemmy to give these two stiffs THREE YEAR CONTRACTS because as we all know people were beating their doors down to hire them......lol.
dabo is a damn clown but he's no dummy. He wants to make it impossible to fire his butt boys.

Expected Streeter to be promoted....pretty much followed the same path as Scott and Elliott.

Did NOT expect Goodwin at all....wasn't even an on-the-field coach. He was a Special Offensive Analyst whatever that is.

I wouldn't get to relaxed. They have all been on the team for the rise. I just read that Streeter has turned down NFL and SEC offers.

Anyone know the contract $ amounts? Heard much less than predecessors which make sense. That would leave $ on the table future hire if these fail I suppose or maybe for raise if necessary.

It's on the State's website. North of $900K for Streeter; north of $800K for Goodwin.

They both have been in the culture and will help continue it. I just hope they are barely good enough to keep the jobs. Like win their division every few years and maybe beat us just when they are about to be fired, roughly every 12 years or so on our ‘down’ year when we are already out of CFP contention. 👍

Elliot and Venables took a lot of the analyst with them. Dabo shouldve capitalized on what theyve had created and went and got a big time OC and DC. Hes going to be kicking himself for not doing when they fall the heck off in a couple years bc the hires he just made. Ill be smiling from ear to ear tho. I say fall in in term of ACC falling off, which for them will still probably be winning 8-10 games a year but they wont sniff another CFP most likely. I hope so at least. They had a ton of talent this year and couldnt do anything with it. Take Venables out of the equation and its gonna get worse!!!

i dont think we really knew how much Radakovich, or whatever his name is, had to do wiht hiring. While he was there they constantly brought in good assistants and coordinators. Hes been gone for less than a week adn theyre already falling off

It was never sustainable from the beginning. Not enough room at the top. Just a matter of time before bigger programs vultured that staff to pieces.

I think it was going to tough for Dabo to go outside and make a big hire. First, he has to try to hold this recruiting class together and if he starts interviewing outside the building then you would see staff start looking at opportunities elsewhere-perhaps OU and UVA because the new coordinator may want his own people and it looks like coach market opened about a month early this year. It’s also hard to hire both coordinator positions at same time with new coaches because it’s important for both OC and DC to be comfortable with the other coordinators philosophy on their side of the ball.

Yeah, I'm completely calling bullshit on what dabo said there. I'd be willing to bet my soul Brandon has not been offered a coordinator spot in the NFL as dabo said. And I'm highly doubting any SEC coordinator positions was offered unless it was for one of the bottom 2 teams.

dabo also said it took roughly 30 seconds to make his decisions. I don't mind that he says dumb shit like this, but if you're such a man of God, how do you just stand there and say the things he does? I don't know why any coach brings God up considering how much shady stuff goes on the daily with college football. I couldn't sleep at night if that were me.

Have you ever thought that just maybe, he knew this day would come. Have you ever thought that just maybe he planned for it. If your a head coach and you have to think who you are going to hire, you are not doing your job. Coaches leave teams every year. You should know your plan for when it happens.

Sounds like he did just that on both sides of the ball. Goodwin is a nobody but according to ESPN, the nfl has been after him for a while and he wouldn’t leave.

They thought Venables was never leaving and had to scramble. Just admit it

The NFL didn’t want him as a coach though, they wanted him as an analyst. That’s what he was with the Cardinals. No one wants him as a coach. He’s basically like the guy on the movie Moneyball.

Not true. He was wanted as a position coach.

You serious Clark. Venables has been at the top of the game for years. Fans thought he didn’t want to be a head coach. You think dabo and him, oh idk, sometime over the last 11 years didn’t have that conversation?
