Spurrier got caught in a talent shortage which in my opinion has been corrected already. Clemson as in so many years is a paper Tiger and as they are forced to toughen up the schedule because an ACC one on its own merit likely wont' reach the playoffs even as the conference champ. I see Tillman College losing five this year and falling even farther back in the arms race with USC.

Clemson wasn't any good the first two years of SC's streak. They had Clemson in Columbia Boyd's first year and we had some issues on the O-line and in the secondary, that was the team that got crushed by West Virginia in the bowl if I'm not mistaken.

The win two years ago in Columbia was just due to Clemson turning it over 6 times, 2 of those drops by the punt returner, another was bad luck for Boyd in a scrum with guys hacking at his hands.

What do you mean we wasn't good? We won the conf. for the first time in 20 yrs. Carolina beat a good team and WVU beat our brains in. Sh happens

I visit the Atlanta metro area often. There is a much larger climpson presence than USC presence. I rarely see any kind of USC publication on news stands and most have climpson publications. I see more climpson stuff on autos than I do USC. They are mentioned more on talk radio than we are. Most have a love affair with dumbo these days when they used to mock him with stuff like Climpson: Where championships go to die. Like it or not they are killing us in recruiting and it's going to show imo. I'm as big a gamecock fan and have been since 1960. rooster and jeffie call me a sunshine pumper and I plead guilty with pride but this development in recruiting makes me very nervous. Shaw toted the rock through the big uglies several times a game every game, got critical first downs with his legs, he lead the team in rushing more than once, he was a three year starter who plays in the League now. He was and is as tough as Plutonium nails; Watson may (may!) one day begin to approach the caliber of player Connor Shaw was for us, if he can stay healthy and keep killing it for 3 more years like he has in the couple of games he's played in, but he will never have one tenth the toughness of Shaw.

Idk about Louisville. They lost 10 to the draft and they have a bigger opening test with Houston and auburn, they are at home tho. Its crazy how they schedule both of us to have 3 games in 12 days and then 2 games in 16 days after that. I'm most afraid of Georgia tech, then ND, then FSU

Clemson's minority enrollment is 17% to Carolina's 23%. I can't speak on school rankings as a whole but in the field of civil engineering multiple companies at career fairs and elsewhere said when recruiting in state that they look at Clemson and Citadel graduates. Both schools offer their own unique opportunities
