This is a big game for us (I suppose they all are now) because time is running out on the season and we need to win some winnable games. This is one of them. Texas A&M is 15-5 but has lost three in a row. On the other hand, one of those losses was to Kentucky at home and the other two to LSU and Arkansas on the road. There's no shame in that.

Can we take care of the basketball? It's been a real problem. Guys like me who have been around a while (I've had season tickets since Bill Foster was coach) remember Melvin Watson, BJ McKie, and Larry Davis on the floor at the same time. Other teams didn't even think about pressing us. I remember once during that era, Kentucky coming to town with the the history of pressing full court the whole game. Not once did they try to press us. We've got to take care of the ball. With our low shooting percentage, you can't give the ball up 20% of the time.

We need to shoot better. How's that for a real grasp of the obvious? It goes back to taking care of the ball and moving it around. Our jump shooters can hit when they are wide open but if they have to hurry a shot because they aren't open -- well, you know how that comes out. And we take too many hurried shots.

8:30 tonight, I'll be watching. Hope you will too.
