Happy state championship weekend, y'all!
I'm here at Benedict for the A and AA state championship games.
First up is the AA championship between Bamberg-Ehrhardt and Abbeville. Should be a defensive slugfest. The fighting Kevin Crosbies (Yes, K.C.'s dad) from Bamberg-Ehrhardt have shut out six of their 14 opponents(!) but face two-time defending champs Abbeville, led by Jamie Nickles (Heck of a football coach). The Panthers are allowing only 15 points a game.
Later, we get undefeated Lamar (Yep, John Abraham's alma mater is yet again dominating) against Baptist Hill. Lamar has beaten all but one team by at least 18 points (The Silver Foxes beat 4A Crestwood by 9). Baptist Hill's quarterback has accounted for a casual 60 touchdowns (51 passing, nine rushing).
