I like Sam Burns, Zalatoris, and Ancer.I'm not a fan of either, although I suppose I don't actually dislike them.
These days, I sort of pull for some of the youngsters - Thomas, Speith, and lately Morikawa and Victor Hovland.

If these two really do start to feud and then you throw in players like Patrick Reed, then Golf will become "Gentlemens Nascar". I truly think that has been a huge part of destroying Nascar. All the drivers fussing and even fighting in the pits. I dont see physical confrontation with golf but verbal jabs and all that will be bad for the game. People watch sports alot of time to get away from a world that lives to act that way. Once you start bringing that soap opera into a sport, people lose interest. I never cared for Nascar but really dont even know if it exists anymore because you never hear about it. I also wrote off the NBA because I was tired of the drama and prima-donnas of the sport anymore. Golf needs to make sure they avoid that same stuff. Its not quite strong enough outside of the Majors, to sustain people avoiding it because of the crap.
I guess we çan agree to disagree. I personally do not want to watch a game like golf dealing with people acting like brats and nitpicking at each other. There is to much of this in other sports. Golf is a “gentlemen’s game”. And should stay that wayCompletely disagree, sports thrive on villains. No villains equals boring cookie cutter corporate types.
it was DJ and they were supposedly friends before that... havent had any use for koepka since.. not that i have any for bryson eitherI forget who Koepka was talking about a couple of months ago where he pointed out how many major wins he had himself and the one competitor he was asked about only had one. Something like that. Anyway, thought it was pretty classless.
I love playing golf, and I can play fairly decent, upper 70s if a few putts go in, low 80s if they don’t. I love attending professional events. But television? Up until very recently, barring a “happening” like this past weekend, if Tiger Woods wasn’t playing I’d rather do yard work than sit in front of the tv watching robots. BD has changed that, for me; he’s like Aaron Pryor back in the golden 80s of boxing. I didn’t particularly “like” Pryor, but he had a unique style and attitude that made each fight a spectacle; SOMEBODY was going down in spectacular fashion.I have to say though - it does make things interesting. I wouldn't want to see them chest-to-chest yelling in each other's faces, but trading barbs under their breath as they clearly show disdain for each other is fantastic.
I think you make a great point.I was thinking something similar to this watching Phil on the last 3 holes sunday. Golf had Jack and Arnie for a period that boosted its popularity, the 90's and 2000's had phil and tiger that really pushed golf into popularity. My worry is who does the game have now? DJ and Koepka are total tools and have the charisma of a wet towel balled up in the bathroom floor, Spieth and Rickie are great but neither is experiencing a lot of success right now. You saw it with Tiger winning the masters last year and Phil winning the PGA this year that fans are still drawn to them. Who is going to be the player/players that keep the game thriving?
Koepka was whing about the wind and the impact to his puttsKoepka vs Woodland ?
They look similar in build.
Thanks for the update on Koepka and Bryson. My coworker showed me the video of Bryson walking by and saying something to Brooks but we couldn’t tell what it was.
It's clear he is able to dish out the jabs but can't them when they are returned. An eye roll from a grown because Bryson walked by him and may have said something? He needs to grow a pair.I honestly think it’s hysterical what Koepka is doing - kind of like the one guy at work who isn’t afraid to call out the annoying guy that drives everyone else crazy.
It started with the slow play comment, but DeChambeau raised the stakes by commenting about Koepka being out of shape and not even having any abs - to which Koepka posted a picture his 4 major trophies and said “you’re right, I’m 2 short of a six pack”.
That rolling eyes video a couple of days ago was funny to me.
Brooks just had his knee worked on like 2 months ago… He was the “older” of the two this weekend TBH.I know it doesn’t work like this. But I couldn’t help but think Koepka laid back or was told to to give Phil the win. I know that’s not what happened but what world class golfer doubles both par 5’s without a lost ball off the tee? And then missing 2 and 3 footers with no break.🤷♂️🤷♂️
The wind was tougher on his putts than the others in the field.Brooks just had his knee worked on like 2 months ago… He was the “older” of the two this weekend TBH.
Short. Wow, hate to see long. LolI don't like the feuding. It doesn't add a thing to the game. I prefer watching guys have fun, joking around and generally showing that they can play outstanding golf but still care more about others and the good of the game itself than themselves. But having said that, I recognize that this is the way things are right now. It is a post-civil world.
Sam Sneed
Billy Casper
Gene Sarazen
Ernie Els
Tom Kite
Hale Irwin
Ben Crenshaw
Payne Stewart
Gary Player
Lee Trevino
Jack Nicklaus
Arnold Palmer
Johnny Miller
Tom Weiskoff
Tom Watson
That's a short list. There are others. If there was any hostility among these guys you would never know it from their public persona.
The bad boys in golf have come along in the last 10-15 years.
I think it's great! I am already a fan of the game but this has my interest. Two rich guys trying to win the court of public opinion by throwing insults at each other via social media.I don't like the feuding. It doesn't add a thing to the game. Everyone knows Gary Woodland is by far,the best ”athlete” on tour(he played college basketball) and if you mean..who wins in a fight?” athletisism translates well and i,d take woodland. ALL DAY...koepka just comes off as a jerk to me,period. And i love his game, but i just don’t like the guy...Koepka vs Woodland ?

Same here. I would pull for Patrick Reed over Koepka.Everyone knows Gary Woodland is by far,the best ”athlete” on tour(he played college basketball) and if you mean..who wins in a fight?” athletisism translates well and i,d take woodland. I'm in the minority, I pull for PR. Like his fire and determination. I hope he can handle past situations more professionally. I will get blasted for this, but I don't consider his past transgressions as "cheating". Pushing the envelope, yes.Same here. I would pull for Patrick Reed over Koepka.
I wouldn't go that far.Same here. I would pull for Patrick Reed over Koepka.
Quite the transition from golf to NASCAR.Nobody could be as slow as Faldo was. ... I quit pulling for Koepka when I saw a pic of him posing in front of a camera in his speedos ... What’s up with Shauffalee? Has he done something to peeve off anybody? ... NASCAR went west, made all the cars look alike = Lost their southern base. Now they go to gimmicks - hauling in dirt, the Roval, changing championship system every 6/8 years. It’s the signs of a desperate organization sinking fast.
If DJ‘s not in the mix, I turn it off! He‘s by far the best player in golf right now!! However, things change withI'm not a fan of either, although I suppose I don't actually dislike them.

He is the most talented player, not the best player. If DJ‘s not in the mix, I turn it off! He‘s by far the best player in golf right now!! However, things change with
time. Tiger was a cut above them all, in his prime, as was Nicholas, Arnie, Hogan , Snead, Player, and a host
of others. Others will rise to the top, but it won’t be Koepka or DC.
Bryson was being the typical jerk and complaining about his driver yesterday. Said the manufacturer couldn’t get it fixed for him.
They interview Brooks today and his comment is “I love my driver.” Love it!
Personally, I think Bryson's whole approach to the game is stupid because the golf swing has so many intricacies that it's impossible to have the exact same swing every single time. His whole scientific thing would apply if he were a robot and could replicate his swing with 100% accuracy every time but that's just not humanly possible which is why he isn't doing that well on the tour this season. Plus he's been whining way more than Brooks lately blaming his driver trying to smooth things over this caddy and just generally acting like a baby on the courseWho ya taking?
B.D. all the way. Koepka is becoming one of the biggest whiners on tour.
I sorta agree with what you're saying but if his goal is to maximize $$'s through endorsements etc., he has been wildly successful.Personally, I think Bryson's whole approach to the game is stupid because the golf swing has so many intricacies that it's impossible to have the exact same swing every single time. Totally agree 👍. If I were fortunate enough to be in their shoes you wouldn't here a damn negative thing from me.Both are kind of pricks that take offense easily. One complained loudly about the other taking too long to line up shots. Bickering went back and forth like 3rd graders. Neither one comes off looking good.
