After the game and congratulate the players and coaches on a good win ??
Or is there still only one Clown Coach that does that in NCAA football.

I would lean more to the side of it being self-serving....but we all have our opinionsI think it was a classy thing to do

Here ya go, Kirby!Yeah actually he did. He asked for the hedge clippings back.
It was one of the most patronizing things I've heard anyone do. Not classy at all!I think it was a classy thing to do
Yeah think muschamp went to Florida locker room last year and congratulated them?I think it was a classy thing to do
Well, he usually wins and takes the mic from the hapless sideline reporter and talks until the stadium custodians have gone home. But he didn't get the opportunity that night so he had to seek someone out to whom to spew.Of course, it was self-serving. First, if gave national PR to the 'Look-At-Me' Dabow. Secondly, it was condescending as hell towards the Syracuse players and coaches. ie, 'Ya'll did the impossible by beating ME and MY mighty Tigers'.
Well, between you and Dabo's Mama, that makes 2 who feel that way.I think it was a classy thing to do
So a coach personally congratulating a team for doing something no one thought they could do is patronizing? Only because it is Dabo.It was one of the most patronizing things I've heard anyone do. Not classy at all!

classy is as classy does...we would have been happy for Smart to come to Columbia and now he's a clown...enjoy the win....
Going into the locker room to do it is the patronizing part.
Congratulate them on the field after. Tell the coach to tell his team they did a great job. Congratulate the team in your postgame presser. Congratulate them on your coach's show the next day.
The locker room thing was a calculated stunt by a salesman. Nothing more.
Just like everything Dabo does it's designed to cultivate an image of himself and the program.
Hard to knock it too harshly, it works with recruits. But it's about as authentic as a 10 dollar Rolex.
I think it was a classy thing to do
Funny post. There really could be a great like top 40 "Daboisms" or just Dabo moments through all the years. I don't care what he has accomplished he's still a train wreck narcissist, hyper sensitive, condescending weirdo.
I mean just this past week he went into a strange 3 minute rant after practice about being asked about if Lawrence had a MRI or not. Just state you don't want to be asked about it and you will make that information public if it needs to be. Why go on a long repetitive 3 minute speech about how "IT JUST DRIVES ME CRAZY! MEDIA TRYING TO CREATE DRAMA"
He may be hiding nothing at all but he sure as heck acts increasingly paranoid with the media when anyone asks a question off script. Seems really irritated that Lawrence isn't playing that well statistically.
He has always conducted himself like a message board fan and not really a professional coach. It works with their fans though and is clearly playing that character. Even before he won championships he had them wrapped around his finger with the scripted rant about us that Spurrier never even said. Talked about magic in dem hills must be why guys don't go pro, how he handled Clemsoning, PEDS, Buttholegate, the FBI wiretap, baptisms at practice, when he was pulled over jumped out of his truck and got the cop fired.. The list goes on and on.
One of the strangest successful coaches I have ever seen. I don't know if the curtain will ever get pulled back on what's going on up there (well a 7 year basketball coach said clearly what was happening on a FBI wiretap and was promptly fired) probably not with how the NCAA is now but he's certainly getting more bold.

Will, Kirby, and Dabo have all did this in recent years. Which of them were wrong or inappropriate? What other coach has ever visited the locker room of the opposing team AFTER a game? If it's so classy, then why aren't all other coaches doing the same? It's patronizing as hell, that's why.
When did Will or Kirby go into the opponent's locker room immediately after the game? I've never heard of ANY coach doing that before. Will, Kirby, and Dabo have all did this in recent years. Which of them were wrong or inappropriate?
Dabo was only one wrong. Kirby and Will's were with good intentions, it is a nice gesture on their part. We do it right in the SEC.

Dabo was only one wrong, he was looking for publicity and carried all the sportswriters into the Syracuse's locker room.

I am only aware of this thread we on. No idea. When did Will or Kirby go into the opponent's locker room immediately after the game? I've never heard of ANY coach doing that before.
Tom, explained all I know of above.Ok, so when did Will and Kirby visit the other team's locker room after a game to congratulate them?

I saw talk of it on here over the weekend. I have no idea. I answered my own question from 4 days ago.
The original post bringing it up was making a very sarcastic joke....somewhat at Dabo's expense. To do what Dabo did would in most circles be considered poor sportsmanship at it's best. Thus far, Dabo is the only coach I've ever heard of doing anything like that. I have heard of coaches going to talk to the opponent's coach to check on the health of a player who was seriously injured in a game....it doesn't happen often though.I am only aware of this thread we on. No idea.

I like Kirby and would err on the side of classy. I think this way because of his respect for Champ and the whooping our team put on them.
