I think his agent had intel that Auburn and possibly UT might open up . Obviously his intel was good . Freeze is looking for a turn key program . Don’t think he’s interested in a rebuild

One things true. They'll get someone with a track record. Big time programs are bigtime programs for a reason. Losing programs are losing programs for a reason. Look no further than the hiring process.
Of course AU would hire him. Freeze and Pearl are basically the same coach in different sports. They win by cheating. It is a perfect fit for Auburn- the most blatant cheater in major college FB.
can someone tell him to come be our head coach instead of continuing coaching long snappers at OU? we are a mess that won't be fixed overnight, I am sure they will understand.

I don't think there was ever interest on either side. From our side, heck, why would we fire a guy who was 2-5 in his 5th season and replace him with a guy who was 2-6 in his 5th season at Ole Miss?

This is the thing I don’t get. He was mediocre while cheating at Ole Miss and somehow because he’s beaten a bunch of teams that haven’t won a game at Liberty he’s the greatest thing out there.

The company I work for hired an Ole Miss player that is very close to Hugh Freeze. He is close enough that when Freeze “screwed up” he was able to get in front of Freeze.

I have never seen a man hated for calling a hooker so much in my life. He's an idiot for doing that sure. Paid his pennance. To say he's a cheat, and that's the only way he can win.....is absurd. He's done nothing but win everywhere he's gone, and at most places he's been it's hard to even cheat. How is he cheating at Liberty for crying out loud? Have you seen their personnel? They beat VT this year and lost to NC State by 1 point......the dude can flat out coach football...end of story. Whether you like him or not...he has thrown his stuff on the line over and over and proved it. We are literally banking on a guy that has never done this once....not a a HS Head coach, D2 Head coach and certainly not D1 or P5 football. If Beamer can produce wins like Hugh Freeze...I will be very happy with the hire.

he’s called a cheater because he is. The Hooker thing was stone cold ignorant. However he went to ole miss to a dumpster fire and almost immediately signed a 5 star player and a top 10 class as I recall. Like did that within a couple weeks I think. I knew right then he was definitely cheating. When the Hooker thing exploded I believe other things came out but those other things were more difficult to pin on him.
Their personnel? You mean the team that is winning specifically because they got some superstar AU recruit to transfer to them and he is lighting up the lesser competition he faces at Liberty? Yeah I am familiar... I am certain there was zero interference or recruiting of a guy already on someone else’s roster involved in getting him over to liberty! He probably really wanted to there instead of AU from day one. I mean a guy like Freeze has such a high moral caliber he would never... Maybe he only cheated while at Ole Miss. I know of nothing else specifically and I hope he has kearned his lesson, but being just a few years removed from the mess he made of his last SEC job I am surprised his name seems to pop up for every opening this year even though no administration has publicly stated much interest in him to this point it seems.
JFTR- I am not hating on the guy when I say his record at Ole Miss is officially a losing record because of wins vacated due to his cheating. That is factual. It has nothing to do with his penchant for hookers.. It has to do with major recruiting violations that happened under his watch which he blatantly lied to everyone about (including recruits and their families) even after the violations were announced. If stating those facts about a guy is hating on him then I am guilty of hating on him.
Freeze won 60% of his games at Ole Miss while cheating. I don’t know where this idea of him being a world beating SEC coach comes from. David Cutcliff won 60% of his games at Ole Miss as well and never was involved in any type of issues on or off the field. Cutcliff also won 10 games in a season at Duke. If you want to drool over a former Ole Miss coach at least pick the right one.
