Disclaimer: I realize this may not interest you, but thought I'd post anyway.
Gamecock Central is an officially licensed site of Rivals. Gamecock Central is not owned by Rivals or Yahoo.
When I moved Gamecock Central to Rivals in 2004, Rivals did not buy Gamecock Central. Gamecock Central just became an officially licensed site of Rivals.
An analogy might be local TV stations. In most cases, local TV stations are affiliates of the networks, not owned by the networks, at least that's my understanding.
In Columbia, for example...
CBS affiliate WLTX is owned by Tegna
ABC affiliate WOLO is owned by Bahakel Communications
FOX affiliate WACH is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group
NBC affiliate WIS is owned by Raycom Media
WHY POST THIS?
1. It started because I was putting together some info for our free forum.
2. A long-time member recently said Rivals bought Gamecock Central, so there must be other long-timers who think the same. Plus, we have a lot of new members who probably aren't very familiar with Gamecock Central.
