Confusing RPO with read-option. RPOs are RB centered runs typically. Whether you hand off or pass depends on the read immediately after the snap.watch the QB from Kentucky , Syracuse and T am run like a running back when needed. Puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Exactly. Very similar to Florida State attempting their version of the "Gulf Coast" offense with a QB who isn't a run threat. What's he referring to I think, is the fact that we are running a spread offense, at least the formation, like a lot of other teams across the country. Only unlike them, our quarterback almost never executes a read option play. On the very, very few times he does he makes the wrong decision, or can't really do much.
You see a lot of different ways people run that play. The way Tebow did, Colin Klein, full blown Oregon gonzo. But the defense has to play the qb as well as the rb.
Not against us. Which is really a big deal.
