I think you're both correct. Joining the SEC obviously gave us credibility and money, as compared to non-SEC teams. However, everyone in the conference gets the same basic payout with a couple of exceptions. The only way for SC to even think of catching financial heavyweights like UF and UGA will be for SC to raise the money itself through sales and donations.
