Sources: Ohio State QB Quinn Ewers to enter transfer portal
Ewers is expected to consider Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech for his next school, sources told Yahoo Sports.
Maybe he would like to move to South Carolina like everyone else from Ohio.Crazy. Skipped senior year of High School after the NIL ruling. Signed a $1.4M endorsement deal. Transferring. Incredible.

It’s going to be like that for everyone though. Dynasties are about to come to an end. He’s hardly a bust. He’s just behind an older, stud QB and he’s not willing to wait his turn.
It just highlights one of the drawbacks of the portal. It’s gonna make it more difficult to build depth.
Seems to me that the Bamas, Georgias, OSUs and the like could potentially not be able to stockpile all the top tier talent. That could only be a good thing. He’s hardly a bust. He’s just behind an older, stud QB and he’s not willing to wait his turn.

He had a million reasons to do so.The whole thing is kind of weird. He was never gonna be the starter there this year, so why make such a fuss to leave school early to go to then just transfer after one year?
It's going to be very interesting to see what impact all of this NIL business has on college football. It’s going to be like that for everyone though. Dynasties are about to come to an end.
$1.4 millionThe whole thing is kind of weird. He was never gonna be the starter there this year, so why make such a fuss to leave school early to go to then just transfer after one year?
Money doesn’t explain it . He would get NIL money anywhere he went. There’s any number of schools he could have gone to and started.$1.4 million
They only get one free transfer, the next one they have to sit out a year, but it definitely throws a different twist into it!This transfer portal is going to kill whats left of College athletics. It's basically now nothing more than 1 year deals.
While it’s true you can get the money anywhere the exposure you’ll get at an Ohio State is going to get you more.Money doesn’t explain it . He would get NIL money anywhere he went. There’s any number of schools he could have gone to and started.
His NIL deal was with a Texas company. While it’s true you can get the money anywhere the exposure you’ll get at an Ohio State is going to get you more.
IIRC Ohio State expected him to compete for the starting job or good playing time by mid-year but minor injuries or other personal issues set him back. Plus, I don't think anyone expected another freshman, Stroud, to play nearly as well as he did.Money doesn’t explain it . He would get NIL money anywhere he went. I’m pretty sure he had more than just the Kombucha deal. I think his agents signed a deal with a sports marketing company for autographs and memorabilia as well. His NIL deal was with a Texas company.
The NIL deal for over $1m was the reason he left his high school early. High school athletes aren't allowed to take part in NIL in Texas. (Other states too I'm sure.) And he got his money. Don't think anyone was lining up for his autograph.I’m pretty sure he had more than just the Kombucha deal. I’m pretty sure there would have been tOSU fans lining up to get his autographs. I still remember the way people chased Garcia all over the stadium when he came for the spring game. The NIL deal for over $1m was the reason he left his high school early. Well, never turned out like that for him. Not many chase down 3rd string qbs AND THEN PAY for an autograph. And 3rd string is what he would be if he stayed. By the way, I've never paid for an autograph. Have you?the way people chased Garcia all over the stadium when he came for the spring game.
While I have not personally there are lots of people who do. Garnet and Black traditions used to sell a lot of memorabilia to people signed by former players. Yes he wasn’t the starter there but it’s a way for boosters to funnel money to guys. It would probably dry up if you don’t pan out but while the hype is fresh I suspect it can be good.Well, never turned out like that for him.
