People want to blame the overall decline of football fan support, ratings, etc... on all of this political stuff, however a lot of it has to do with the overexposure, short attention span of today's fan, as well as the greed of some of these networks. Football is a 1 hr game + halftime, but given commercials, timeouts, long reviews, etc....the games are being regularly stretched out to 3.5 hrs - 4 hrs. People are no longer committing a whole day to attending a game or half a day tuning in to watch. When you have 3 mins of commercials, come back to show a team receive a kickoff, then go back to commercials, something is wrong!!

Arrive late, leave early, stay home and watch the game on t.v., but still do other things in the background, etc...This is what it has come to...
