1. This is the first time since 1999 South Carolina is 0-2 to start a season and the first time under Will Muschamp the Gamecocks are 0-2 to start their SEC schedule. The last time they lost their first two conference games was in 2015 when they went 3-9.
2. Kyle Trask completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 268 yards against South Carolina. It's the 14th time of the Muschamp era the Gamecocks have allowed the opposing quarterback to complete over 70 percent of his passes. They are 3-11 in those games.
3. Shi Smith caught 12 more passes for 85 yards and a score Saturday. He's on pace to catch 110 passes for 1,125 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. If that holds, he'd set the school record for single-season receptions by 22 catches. It'd also be the fourth-most receiving yards and third-most touchdown grabs. If he catches 110 passes it'd be the fourth-most in a single season by a SEC receiver.
4. South Carolina held Florida under 100 yards rushing in the Swamp, marking the 10th time since 2016 the Gamecocks have held an opponent to double digits on the ground. In games they do, they're now 7-3 after Saturday's loss. All three losses have come in the last 14 games: Alabama, Appalachian State and Saturday at Florida.
5. Through two SEC games the Gamecocks are averaging 4.5 yards per play, which is the second-lowest mark of the Muschamp era through the team's first two conference games. The only one lower was in 2016 when the Gamecocks averaged 4.2 yards per play against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.
South Carolina averaged four yards per play against Florida, the fifth time under Muschamp the Gamecocks have averaged four yards or fewer per play.
6. South Carolina had 11 drives Saturday: four scoring drives, three three-and-outs and two drives that netted negative yardage. They averaged 7.6 yards and 29.4 yards per drive. In the first half they averaged 5.8 plays and 24.2 yards per drive compared to 9.8 plays and 35.6 yards in the second half. On the four scoring drives they averaged 10.8 plays and 52.3 yards per drive.
7. Through two games Collin Hill is 53-for-86 with 502 yards, three touchdowns and a pick. He's on pace to complete 265 of 430 attempts for 2,510 yards and 15 touchdowns. If that holds, it'd be the second-most completions, third-most attempts and ninth-most yards by a South Carolina quarterback in a single season.
8. South Carolina's defense allowed four passing touchdowns on fewer than 29 attempts against the Gators. That's only happened six times since 2000 with last time an opponent threw fewer than 30 times and also threw four touchdown passes coming in 2013 against Georgia.
9. Saturday's loss pushes the Gamecocks' losing streak to five games, the longest since ending the 2015 season losing five straight. It's just the fourth time since 2000 the Gamecocks have lost five straight games, also doing it in 2002, 2008.
