1. Saturday South Carolina gave up just 202 yards to App State, which was just the fourth time since 2000 the Gamecocks have allowed less than 250 and lost. The last time it happened was 2012 against Florida.

2. The Gamecocks mustered just 21 rushing yards Saturday, marking the eighth time since 2000 they've rushed for less than 25 in a game. It's the second time they have put up less than 25 yards on the ground (16 against Missouri). The last time that happened twice in the same season was 1988.

3. This was the first time they've lost to a non-Power 5 team at home since The Citadel in 2015. It's also the first time they've lost to two unranked teams in the non-conference since 2002.

4. The 15 points scored were the fewest against a non-Power 5 team since 2016 against East Carolina where they scored 15 points. To go back and find a time they scored fewer than 15 points against a non-Power 5 team was 2003 against Louisiana Lafayette.

5. In preparation for Saturday's SEC finale, Gamecocks are on pace to be outscored by 42 points in SEC play this season. It would be just the sixth time since 2000 they've been outscored by at least 40 points over the course of SEC play and the first time since 2016.

6. Bryan Edwards set the all-time receiving yards record Saturday night and is two touchdowns away from setting that record as well. He's on pace for 85 catches for 979 yards, which would rank second all-time in catches for a season and sixth all-time in yards of a season. It'd be the most receiving yards in a season since Pharoh Cooper in 2014.

7. The Gamecocks picked up eight more penalties for 50 more yards Saturday and are averaging 7.1 penalties for 58.2 yards per game. In FBS football this year, South Carolina is one of 18 teams with at least 70 penalties for at least 550 yards.

8. Ernest Jones finished Saturday's game with 10 tackles, two for loss (one was a sack), and an interception. He joins some elite company to register that kind of stat line with Antonio Allen, Melvin Ingram and Captain Munnerlyn the only Gamecocks do to that since 2000. Ingram was the one outside of Jones with a sack.

9. The Gamecocks had 13 drives Saturday but over half of those (seven) were five plays or less. They'd average 6.8 plays and 26.3 yards per drive.
