Football Future Bright!!!

I have read a lot of negative posters saying we are going to be down for years to come in football. Our defense was our problem last year. If we could have mustered average defensive play we might would have been in the hunt for a trip to Atlanta.

Looking at our roster we have tons of youth on defense. I see a lots of talent in that youth and I believe this year as the season goes along I believe we will see dramatic improvement. Def. end and tackle play killed us last year and I see more talent there than last year. If we get modest gains from our front with our LB corps being as good as it is our defense can't help but improve. Throw in more experienced coaching i think we will be ok defensively.

I concur.....the recruiting has not gone well to this point but Spurrier pointing out he is not retiring and doesn't think he would be good at it (retirement) helps. We also have the flag issue behind us along with some very positive media coverage of that. I also think the Tillman Hall issue will raise it's head before the recruiting season is done. We can play the "clemsux didn't support removing the flag until a week before and after everyone else did and they have a building at the center piece of their campus named after a murdering racist" card.....

best part is we only have to listen to the Clemson Bullshit Mania for a few more weeks then watch how fast their trailer park fanbase start taking off the license tags and turning on Swinney.

I think you have the right attitude. Even Spurrier has said that he wants a culture where the coaches, players and fans expect the Gamecocks to win big games and compete at the highest level. I'm tired of being patient. I hate to think that we missed our chance to break through, but it feels that way. As fans, we deserve more. Coach Spurrier!!! Throw the damn kitchen sink at every team that comes down the pike!!!
