Had a verbal altercation with his girlfriend's ex. Dude got pissed and shot him.

Always liked A1. Was at the UT game when he injured his leg. Was a really good QB, but followed up Taneyhill, so he never seemed to get the appreciation he probably should have. Also got stuck playing on those teams in the dreadful end of Scott's tenure. He's still kind of a forgotten man among many Gamecock fans.
Always thought he could have been a better QB in the NFL if given more consistent playing time. Felt he got a raw deal in Dallas and outperformed some of the other guys, but he was seen as "not the guy." He did quite well with Ravens when filling in for Kyle Boller.
Nevertheless, he hung around the league for about a decade and got a Super Bowl ring.

Who else comes close as far as longevity in the league?
I certainly can't remember anyone but I've only been around since the 90's so didn't know if I was missing somebody.
Here's to hoping one on the current roster or next year's roster can take that title one day
ha, yeah, not too many college QBs convert to halfbacks in the NFL.
Bill Troup played 7 seasons in the NFL in the 70s and one in the cfl, as a backup qb, that is probably the closest.
Still have the black home replica jersey of his #1 that they wore in 1997 and 1998, got it before the Marshall game in '98, tried to get the white road jersey later, but couldn't find it.
Perp has been arrested, charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. Now he is out on bond.
He would have flourished today with so much zone read stuff going on. The team we had in 96 really should have got a bowl invite. We were 6-5 and finished the season with a win at Clemson who was ranked at the time. Deuce Staley had a big season and that was probably the best team that Scott put on the field. It all went downhill after that season.
The Hooker guy was dropping his 6 year daughter to the mother who I assume Anthony Wright is dating? the little girl was in the car at the time of the shooting, and their was a community pool near by that reacted to the gun shots as well, thinking it was at them, terrible situation all around.
Sounds like the dude was already a felon and ran from the scene, surprised he got bail, I wonder if he will show up at court
