CB Rashad Fenton is out w/ an undisclosed knee injury. He hasn’t been put on IR, so the Chiefs think he will be back in less 4 weeks. He’s having a breakout season as one the top 7 CBs in the NFL per PFF.
CB Chris Lammons has a hip injury, but has been practicing full tilt all week. He’s expected to play, perhaps more than usual w/ Fenton out.
Melvin Ingram has helped transform the Chiefs defense since coming over from the Steelers 3 weeks ago for a 6th round draft pick. The chiefs defense over the past 4 weeks is allowing 11 points per game. Prior to these 4 games, it was 30th or worse in pass defense, run defense, total yards & points allowed. It’s not all MI, but he allows the Chiefs to play Chris Jones inside where he’s a disruptive nightmare. W/ Frank Clark getting healthy, Jones back inside more & MI playing at high level, the Chiefs defense may well be a top 10 unit like it was when they won SB 54.
