*** South Carolina's team will be in Athens on Saturday to take on the Bulldogs, but multiple members of the coaching staff will be on the road the night before to watch some key targets and commitments.

*** Erik Kimrey will be watching a top 2023 target, quarterback Dylan Lonergan, as his Brookwood squad takes on North Paulding at home.

As we have documented, Kimrey was teammates at South Carolina with Brookwood head coach Philip Jones.

*** Montario Hardesty will be seeing a 2023 back that he's had his eyes on for a while, that being Blessed Trinity's Justice Haynes. This four-star rusher's team plays at Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on Friday.

Haynes' father, Verron Haynes, played at UGA.

*** The Gamecocks just wrapped up a comeback win against East Carolina in Greenville on Saturday. Could Shane Beamer's program strike another blow to the Pirates?

Kaleb Webb committed to ECU back in June, but multiple ACC and SEC programs have jumped in since then. On Friday night, Gamecock wide receivers coach Justin Stepp will scout Webb in person as his McEachern team takes on Newton.

It would not be a big surprise to see a Gamecock offer materialize at some point after the weekend.

*** Over the summer, Raul Aguirre worked out at one of South Carolina's camp sessions and promptly earned an offer from the staff. The 2023 prospect spoke very highly of the trip, giving the sense that he'd be one to watch going forward for the staff. Jimmy Lindsey, who has Aguirre's area on the recruiting trail, will scout him this weekend.

*** A pair of Gamecock pledges from the Peach State will also have coaches wearing Garnet and Black on the sidelines on Friday night.

Edge coach Mike Peterson will be scouting Griffin's Donovan Westmoreland, while Torrian Gray will check out four-star corner pledge Emory Floyd.

*** Our subscribers may be wondering when coaches are set to scout other targets that are priorities in the 2022 class, guys such as Antonio Williams and Oscar Delp.

There are plans on the books for those - and others - just not this week.
