A hop and a skip from the Lake Murray dam
everybody else: 4 for 48. That stat was pointed out by Trey Dyson the previous (7th) inning, at least, I think I quoted that right. We have two pure hitters on this team, and that's pretty much it. If Coach Holbrook doesn't go out and hire the absolute best damned batting coach available, then it will show you he's not the man for the job. I realize that a new batting coach won't raise the team average .100 pts in 2 or 3 weeks, but it *should* help the guys who are not hitting well to bring their averages up some, and every little bit helps.

edit: Just to be clear, I believe those numbers include game1.

Saw some of that last year as well. They might be the best on the team at going with the pitch and situational hitting. Conner Bright was good as well, he just needs to find a way back.

What would help even more is Holbrook benching people who aren't hitting over a period of time and try to find some combination that equals timely hitting. Of course, better coaching for the hitters is always on the table.
