George Glymph passed away

Glymph did a lot for HS basketball, and he sent several great players from Eau Claire to USC. This was before the shoe companies, and sleazy street agents took over recruiting.

Good man from all I ever heard about him. He leaves a nice legacy of helping many kids reach their goals and potential. RIP coach.

I saw a lot of his teams play at the Beach Ball Classic in Myrte Beach when growing up. He was a good coach and seemed very respected by his players

Coach Glymph was indeed the greatest. I think of what Dave Odom said about Coach Glymph's hero, Frank McGuire, "he was a great coach and a better human being." Sums up George Glymph perfectly. I was in awe of him and I'm far from alone. There willl never be another one like him.

He was definitely the best in the midlands during the 80's and 90's. It's ironic that 2 Legendary High School Coaches died within a month of each other. Loue Golden died last month around Thanksgiving. Rip!

FWIW...this may or may not be true. He lives 3 houses down from me. I didn't see anything that would lead me to believe that he had passed when I left for work this morning. He drove by the house yesterday in his truck. Dana (daughter) stopped by last Tuesday to check on Grandmother, and mentioned that he wasn't doing well. But there is nothing going on at the house right now that would lead us to believe something has happened.

Hummm... He may have passed away in his sleep?
