Gonna Be a Long Season

LOL, all the non-sunshine-pumpers knew that a long time ago.
Need to get the ball back here and score and win this game

It certainly appears like it's going to be a long season based on what we saw from the new offense.

As soon as we run into an athletic SEC defense - which could be next weekend - they will concentrate on pinning Sellers in the pocket and forcing him to throw the ball which will probably lead to more turnovers.

Basically what defenses did to Ratter last season. However, Sellers obviously doesn't have Rattler's throwing ability right now and none of our receivers are anything close to Legette. In addition, we don't have the Anderson bowling ball running game to try to contain the damage when things get squirrely.

This will likely be the recipe for some very hapless and embarrassing games, especially given the schedule. Growing pains -- if we're actually growing.

I'd like to see Loggins start rotating QBs to give the defenses a little more to think about at least in the short run.

The backup QB can't throw the ball. All he can do is run the ball so you're not giving the defense anything else to look at.

Ashford is marginal. However, he's also a RS Senior who threw the ball around for Auburn in 2022. Mediocrity by committee.

Are we completely priced out of the quality SEC QB at this point?

We tried that with Juice and he left to go play with a better QB.

So it's your theory that Wells left money on the table to go play for Ole Miss? How Much?

The key point you keep missing is that he wanted to go play for a team with a bunch of openly paid studs.

He couldn’t look any worse than our starting QB did. This dude short hopped a 8 yard throw…..
He also threw the ball several feet over a leaping 6'5" Nyck Harbor's extended arms. Harbor took a hard hit and came up limping. Sellers had a panic look in the pocket. He was searching to escape the pocket instead of going through his progressions. He might be good at running the option. He looked so out of place in the pocket.

He was our highest paid player. We weren’t being cheap with him.

And he said he left because of the QB situation…

I still think Sellers has potential. I just hope that Loggains can bring it out of him.

You and I both know Wells didn't take some big pay cut to pay for Ole Miss. It probably was the opposite.

If it was close to similar, then yes -- going to play for a publicized high paid team with the potential to win it all makes total sense in terms of both environment and NFL status.

I would not be surprised to see Kiffin at Florida next season. Their fans want him BAD.

Yep and there just isn’t as many quality lineman available these days and the big dogs get them all. I don’t see big guys playing even at high school level.

Just the kids 1st Start. Give the kid some time to develop.

A look at the PFF numbers shows on Cason Henry with decent score. When the guys are in the 50's and low 60's against a non power 4 team.\

We probably shouldn't take those numbers seriously. Henry looked awful and it was against ODU.
