Great Win By our Ladies

Boston didnt play but 5 minutes in the first half after getting two quick ticky tack fouls. I think if we play the game again on a neutral court the game doesnt come down to overtime and the Gamecocks win with a 5-10 point margin. Im pretty sure that was our first real away game so there will always be some jitters, but Im glad we escaped with a W.

Cameron Brink played extremely well for Stanford. If they had another player like her they would be very hard to beat.

One of the many things I respect about Women's Basketball is, all the Top Teams in the nation play each other and don't schedule a dozen cupcakes every year. UConn, Stanford, Carolina, etc. aren't afraid to face the competition and are willing to travel to their opponent's gym to do it. Can't say that about ANY men's program in ANY men's sport.

Congratulations to Coach Dawn Staley & team, victors over the last 17 RANKED opponents they've faced. Which in & of itself, is an amazing feat.

You can play that level of competition when you have a 35 game schedule. Top male teams are starting to do the same.

Good point. Our girls team is so stacked that most games aren’t getting this team better than an additional practice would….like the Benedict massacre. They would have been better off practicing than playing that game.

Mad respect to Dawn for scheduling practically the entire top 15 teams in the country.

Gritty performance. We were basically losing for 39 of the 40 regulation minuites but truned it in when we needed to. Tough to beat when you are this talented and this determined.

I didn't think we played well at all, but we beat the #2 team in the country on their own floor. When you can do that and not play well, it's a good sign this team can be special.

We have never played well against Stanford over the past 2-3 years. Stanford is the one team that matches up well with our bigs and they force our guards to score. If we don't make shots, we lose. Fortunately, we have made just enough shots to take two of the last three contests.

Stanford was as big as us - maybe bigger, as tough as us, and playing at home in their bandbox arena. This was a great one to win. The only detraction was the free throw shooting at the end. We can't have that. There will be other tight games and that vulnerability could undo us when it really matters.

Their huge redhead is going to be big trouble for us in the future. I’m not that worried about 6’7” Betts yet — she still lacks physicality. I’m still amazed we got that inbounds pass to Boston over that big redhead.

I didn’t get to watch the game, but had a relative send me a picture. For some reason I can’t get it to post here. It is a picture of Coach Staley wearing a shirt supporting Brittney Grindr! I think it is wrong in so many ways! Dawn needs to do what she is paid quite handsomely to do, coach the girls basketball team! I am embarrassed to see this! Do y’all think Coach Beamer would do something like that?

The Stanford coach wore the same shirt. It’s what America-hating Libs do. There’s no place on Earth more liberal than the Stanford campus — except the Cal Berkeley campus right up the road. Both schools teach Hate America 101 courses.

I'm so happy for Griner. She no longer has to suffer the inhumanities of America and its horrible National Anthem.

You can like or not like Griner’s politics or sexual preference, however, what’s un-American about wanting to get an American citizen out of Russia? We get so caught up into our political bubbles that we wish bad on each other for no reason.

Don’t give a rat’s behind about her sexual preference! As far as politics, Republicans, Democrats, and Independents are all for the United States, in their own way. Griner is not for the United States in any way! At least she wasn’t for the US in any way until she got locked up in Russia for breaking THEIR laws. Now, she wants the US to do whatever possible to bring her home! I am all for bringing Paul Whelan home, because he wants to be an American in the US.

And as far as trading a terrorist for anyone........NO WAY, NO HOW! JMHO and millions of others as well.

…..and you have the right to that opinion. I am not knocking it. My issue is having a problem with our coach and Stanford’s coach, both of whom coached her in International competition, lobbying for her to be brought home. Heck, even Donald Trump fought for the release of A$AP Rocky’s and the son of Lavar Ball’s release and what did they ever do for America. I am just not in the camp of abandoning American citizens just because you don’t like them.
