....and quit trying to guess what the pitch is. We're starting the 3rd time through our lineup and no one has made any adjustments to their plate approach.

No. You always sit fastball and then adjust to off speed pitches. You never sit on an off speed pitch. The problem is we have no one that can make the adjustments.

I've never seen a good hitter expect any pitch other than a fastball. You always sit dead red, if you don't, just an average fastball will make a hitter look foolish.

Fastball, then adjust.

A solid approach means everything to a hitter.

Most of the time yes, you sit fastball & adjust. But when you have a lineup full of guys who fly open trying to pull everything like we do, against a guy with that good of a change up and who lives on his changeup, you pick one and sit on it. Because when most of our guys are sitting fastball they have no chance barreling up an off speed pitch.

NEVER EVER have I heard of a hitter sitting on a change up. Doesn't matter how bad their mechanics are.

The change up and the fastball are supposed to have the same arm motion. No way in hell can you sit change up, then adjust.

Our teams approach at home plate is already sickening, to have them sit (or guess) change up would make them look even worse, IF THATS EVEN POSSIBLE.

Ok then, so you'd sit fastball against a knuckle ball pitcher? You'd look just like our guys whiffing at the changeup yesterday if so.

The pitcher and your personnel always determine your plate approach. 95% of the time you need to sit fastball and adjust, and that's how we needed to start the game yesterday. But once you start your 3rd time through the lineup and the pitcher has made you look bad the previous 2 ABS with only throwing fastball/changeup while not throwing the same pitch 3 times in a row, it's time to pick one and sit on it. Because our guys were damn sure bassakwards trying to guess the pitch. We started the btm 8th with our 1st two batters sitting changeup & they hit it the other way for hits. It didn't matter which pitch they were sitting on, as long as they picked one finally.

We can just agree to disagree on this. Ben McDonald said the same thing after I posted this. That it had reached a point in the game that it was time to pick a pitch and sit on it.
