House of Cards

Quit watching after the first season. Got a little weird for me. I thought the first season was great.

Can't stop watching. When season three came out, had to stop and pace myself to keep from watching the whole season in a 24 hour period.

Love that the Pres is from Gaffney, SC. Great show!

Same. I paused between season 1 & 2. I wanted to process it. Lol. I wonder how the Citadel feels about its portryal in the show?

The first season was amazing, the second was good, but not great, and the third was bleah. The actors just don't have the same "energy" they did at the start. Don't get me wrong, the performances are still good, they just don't have that special something that pushes them into "incredible" like Kevin Spacey was in Season 1. In addition, the story is starting to get confusing. I understand it's a series about subterfuge and back-room deals, but things just feel kind of aimless and meandering. The plot just isn't as focused as it was in Season 1.

I have read several others opinions online and they seem to echo yours. I still have to catch up but I certainly hope season 4 is the tits! Lol. I like this show and the characters.

Finished up Dexter in record time and jumped into house of cards. Basketball watching is slowing our progress, but been known to knock down 3-4 shows per night. Knowing the lead female was married to Sean Penn made this a bit hard to watch at first.

This was the next show on my list...from all accounts it is a must-see show. I've had some people tell me it's better then Breaking Bad. I find that hard to believe.

Great show, but it was better early on when he was scheming to gain power than trying to hold on to it like he does in season 3. And they have to add filler. This show is a carbon copy of a BBC series from about 30 years ago. Follows the same story line, just with different names and scenarios. But still the same. But the BBC version had a lot fewer episodes over its three seasons.
