Midland Valley isn't known for their football but they have had some good athletes come through and their offer list always leaves me shaking my head. I don't think the staff there does a good job of exposing the kids. I just got back from their first round basketball game in which they won handily over N. Myrtle Beach. Several of those guys play on the football team also. Kameron Brown just signed with Charleston Southern. Not saying he's SEC material but ill promise you if he were at North Augusta he would have had a lot more offers. They have a 6'4" 290lb tackle that plays center on the b ball team. He signed with some tiny school. Again if he were at a program that routinely sends players he would've had more offers. Daniel Carr is the point guard and QB of the football team. Smooth as they come but undersized for QB at 5'11" and 180. He is s junior right now. I heard Wake came down to talk the other day. I really believe he is someone we should at least be talking to at this point. But I don't think the school helps these kids with highlight videos or anything. There is another kid Devin Young. A sophomore who can fly and jump out of the gym. He's listed at 6'3 and200 lbs. He has some you tube videos i guess he put up himself of boxing and football. A boxer who won a national title this past year so he will probably be mainly focused on that. But he's an elite athlete. I wish these kids could get more exposure because I know their good. Would like to see one of our guys stop in for a look sometime.

As close as the school is to Augusta, might it help if they scheduled some contests vs Augusta schools so that the kids get added exposure? Same thing with schools in Beaufort County - wish they schedule more contests vs Georgia schools in and around Savannah.

I am an alumnus of MV. My understanding is that Brown didn't have the 40 time speed for D1. But I agree, the kid does some amazing things on the field and the court. It is my understanding that Devin Young could possibly be the best athlete to ever come through the school. It's kind of a shame that he may not even play football because he is a very good boxer and recently made a national youth boxing team.

It is just the cold, cruel reality. At just about every school, fans cannot understand why their favorite player, or players, isn't being recruited by the state schools. Some like to blame the high school coaches. Years ago, that may have made a difference for the high school coach to call the college head coach. Rarely in this day and time. With all of the exposure of HUDL videos, camps, and combines, and just word of mouth, if a player has the talent, the recruiters will show up. It is all about talent, size, and speed. What likes great on a high school field may not translate to D1 football. It could also be a grades issue. Trust me, if they have the grades, and they are good enough, the coaches will find them.

Actually two. Sage Valley is quite the compliment to Augusta National. Don't know what their grades are like but Carr and Young(if he decides to not box) are D 1 talents regardless if I went to that school 20 years ago or not
