It's because they're mentally weak. Put even the slightest pressure on them and they fold like a deck of cards. Same problem as the football team: plenty of talent, just no belief, no confidence, and a fragile psyche.

Well, other than lacking depth, leadership, athletes, and basketball IQ, we're pretty damn good????

Seriously, this team is missing two dope heads (rumored reason for suspensions), has one senior, no go-to scorer, and very little bench. What this team does have is HEART and EFFORT. Unfortunately, heart and effort can only take you so far.

Really a shame that they fought back, took an 11 point lead, then pissed it all away!

And that's why I really feel for these guys. They aren't going out there and not trying, or losing on purpose. For whatever reason, they just can't get it done.

And that's why I really feel for these guys. They aren't going out there and not trying, or losing on purpose. For whatever reason, they just can't get it done.

On the surface, I think you are right. But it's a whole different set of circumstances, when that little voice in your head tells you that you can't win and your record proves it.

Describe it however you want. Playing NOT to lose. Pressing. Thinking that you are cursed/doomed, no matter how well you play. It's not that they don't want to win, they're just not comfortable when the opportunity is there. They're used to losing and 1 big win isn't going to change anything long term. It's a long process that has to develop.

IMO, missing one go to guy at the end of games.

We have some good players....guys with talent. We just don't have that killer mentality or that one guy that wants to put the team on his back and carry them to victory.

Same this past season in football. Got some good players. But none willing or able to be the leader.
