I loved this analysis by our manager regarding making the baseball playoffs:
"I think we certainly have to win more than we lose."

He makes the NCAA tourney sound so trivial. It's like "if we don't make it this year, oh well, no big deal... there's always next year". It's getting to where I despise his attitude, his lack of energy and emotion in the dugout.
He had the same attitude toward the Regionals last year when we were getting ready to play MD. He made some statement, and I'm paraphrasing, we will lose a Regional sometime and it may be this Regional. It was self full feeling prophesy. I don't like his attitude either.
Yeah must be nice to be that confident in your job to make comments like that. I'd say Nick Saban knows he has job security but you won't hear him say "if we don't make a bowl game this year, we'll be fine".
I posted here about the statement Holbrook made before that series last year. I got slammed on this board. It was the last post I made about baseball. I stated you would never see a quality coach making a statement like that before a series. That quote told me all I needed to know about this man. It conveyed to his players he did not believe in their abilities and that losing was nothing to be concerned about. Now the quote is, we will be fine if we do not make the tourney. The next quote will be we will be fine if we play less than .500. I guess its fine to be irrelevant Chad. Its OK Chad to run this championship franchise into the dirt. What a pathetic excuse for a coach. He needs to pack his bags and go where ever mediocrity is accepted. I do not want a coach with lack of intestinal fortitude coaching my son's future pee wee team. I can tolerate lack of talent as we as humans can learn. I can not tolerate lack of intestinal fortitude as that is something you either have or do not have. He can not be gone soon enough for me. I was calling for his exit as soon as he made the statement.
