Beamer did a lot of research via his network, and heard some great things about Satterfield. I would imagine Brady endorsed him as well. Beamer may be new at this, but he isn't stupid or reckless. IMO we do not need a sexy hire, we need a good fit who will build out the program. Beamer obviously believes this is the guy, knowing full well how it would be perceived. Something to be said for him sticking to his guns.
I will say I'm not overly thrilled, but there are reasons this was the hire, and I'm sure that will leak out over the next day or two. I'm interested to see what kind of offense he brings...far more interested than what Bobo was bringing to the table.
