A few years back at a Christmas, a family member who worked closely with a HS football program in the low country said there was difference between Beamer and Spurrier Jr in recruiting and when Beamer left for Va Tech, so did our pipeline of recruiting... Spurrier Jr expressed to HS coaches he didn't like recruiting and thought name alone would bring big time recruits..
