If interested the new season of Last Chance U

Nice. That’s always what starts the build up for the football season for me. As long as the schools are pretending they’ll play this fall, so will I!

Is on Netflix. I believe this is the last one they will have.
It' debatable if any team will have a season to use for it anyway.
I love this show, but it makes me angry watching some of the entitled brats who don't realize they aren't God's gift to the sport and, in fact, are on their Last Chance.

i was watching a pro game last year and saw Dakota Allen make a few plays . Glad he made it . He seemed like a pretty squared away kid considering the circumstances

Give us a critique of Dark.
I was watching Dark when my family showed up. I quickly turned it to porn because it would be easier to explain. lol
I actually liked the show. If you ever seen the Butterfly effect and liked it, you'll like dark. Time travel with more plot twist than you can shake a stick at.

Watched it yesterday.
Loved Coach Beam! and his wife.
Dior was my favorite, of course!
Imagine what he could have done with proper nutrition and rest.
Even sleeping in his car and living on fast food he was fantastic!

Yep his poor wife...had to move when she was in high school because her town was “too white”. Smh

Last Chance U will continue but will be following a JUCO Basketball program instead of football. Not sure if it will keep the actual name Last Chance U or not.

Basketball

I don’t think the basketball will be near as big a hit as football. But it’s hard to duplicate the craziness year after year. I won’t be shocked to see another season of football for the series a few years down the road. I’d love a return to EMCC which were definitely the best seasons. I still go back and watch season 1 about every 6 months or so.

Thank god that clown from last year is gone. What a joke. Plan on catching the new season this weekend.

In Jason Brown’s defense, he took a team that was the laughing stock of JUCO Football and won a conference title with them. Not to mention he put quite a few players into D1 football.

They knew exactly what they were getting when they hired him. That town didn’t want to change and put so much $$ into the football program there so they finally found something they could fire him for.

I wouldn’t want him as my coach, that’s for sure. But the players seem to like playing for him. I think they get to see a side of him we obviously didn’t get to. I thought it said a lot that his bitter rival even spoke highly of him in the end. That shows me everyone realizes he’s a pretty good coach or that the rivalry was more about the show. Probably a bit of both.

Buddy Stephens is a hell of a coach. I’d imagine it’s really difficult to coach a team with a camera around non-stop. I think a lot of that escalated things. The other teams knew there were cameras there filming as well. And let’s be honest, that’s the stuff we tuned in to see.

This last chance u seems to have lost me.. maybe its just the same thing over and over again,, but the previous seasons seemed more intriguing to me

Finally getting to watching Last Chance U and this season doesn't seem to match up with the name of the show like previous seasons. I love these players and coaches - all a bunch of hard working dudes trying to better themselves. Definitely a different JUCO vibe for the California system. Previous seasons seemed to be dominated by a bunch of very talented, but lower character kids, that used up all their options when their bad behavior finally outpaced their talent.

Of course I rooted for all those kids in those previous seasons too - I love to see people do well (and many times their behavior could at least be partially explained by their upbringing). But I'm liking this season a lot.

This is the first season I’ve watched. My wife actually turned it on and we both got hooked. I love these kids. I’m planning to force my kids to watch so they can see what kids without the same advantages as they have go through to try to make better lives for themselves.

For some reason I didn't care for this version. Didn't care for Beam. Seemed a little out there. California seems to be a good place for him. And agree with an above poster. He seemed a little bit too exceedingly proud of his wife's social comments. Last Chance went down hill every year to me.

The players didn't mind disrespecting his authority either. I don't see him as any better or worse than Buddy Stephens. In coaching, only one thing really matters. That almost always comes out in the coaches and players when they lose. They're a team when they win. It's every man for himself when they don't.

I'm getting a little tired of the CB telling the refs, the opponents, the coaches and the lamp post he has 6 offers.

Someone mentioned online that the season seemed rushed. I agree. I still liked it. I learned a bit.

Oh yeah, did you know there was a rivalry between Oakland and San Fran? They only repeated a version of "big brother, little brother" like 15 times.

I liked Beam but found it hard to root for most of the kids. Maybe it's just the way they were edited, not sure. Most of them seemed to think they were better than they really were and the rest of them never seemed to try hard at all, at school or at football. The first season is still my favorite, I think because it focused a lot on the kids' academics and how hard the school worked to help them.

I'm on episode 4. The big Samoan kid plagiarized a paper. Coach punished him by making him run 20 yards a couple times. Not running stadium stairs, but running level ground for 20 yards. I'm sure he learned his lesson.
