Word circulated via Palm Beach (Florida) media on Wednesday morning that South Carolina had pulled a signing day flip of Fort Pierce (Florida) Westwood rush end Gilber Edmond.

As we mentioned on Tuesday night, South Carolina had been planning to count forward specialists Kai Kroeger and Mitch Jeter and hold over one signing day slot for a late get or grad transfer.

We had not gotten word yet of Edmond, but the opportunity to nab him apparently popped up quite late. He's a guy that did not appear to be on the market, but South Carolina swooped in once it had the chance. Apparently the Gamecock staff likes him a good bit.

I've confirmed that Edmond is in the boat for the Gamecocks and is definitely a scholarship take. He had formerly been committed to South Florida, now coached by former Clemson assistant Jeff Scott.
