*** As South Carolina looks to add one to two more offensive linemen to the 2020 recruiting class, we have previously mentioned that the staff could look to go the junior college route.

Position coach Eric Wolford recently stepped forward with an offer to Hutchinson Community College’s Jazston Turnetine, a massive offensive lineman who’s originally from Stockbridge, Georgia.

South Carolina’s been quietly digging in on Turnetine for several weeks, and Wolford traveled to Kansas during the contact period to scout him. The 6-foot-8 prospect could remind both Wolford and Will Muschamp in a way of former Florida o-lineman Trenton Brown, a player Wolford coaches with the San Francisco 49ers.

There is no date firmed up at this point, but look for Turnetine to make an official visit to Columbia sometime this summer. The feel is that he’s quite intrigued by USC’s offer.

*** Another name to know in the 2020 class along the offensive line is Tennessee’s Blake Hundley, who said around a week ago that South Carolina had extended him his first FBS offer.

Look for Hundley to work out with Wolford at camp over the summer and see how things progress, with the possibility of making a return during the fall for a game.

*** Valdosta (Georgia) athlete Jaheim Bell picked up an offer from South Carolina, one he told GamecockCentral.com at the time that he was excited to land. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder picked up the scholarship on the heels of a big junior season.

This weekend, two key visits are on the docket as Bell will travel to Columbia on Friday and to Alabama on Saturday. We’ll have a better idea of where things stand between the Gamecocks and Bell after that trip.

*** South Carolina offered Georgia athlete Desmond Tisdol in mid-January, with the Gamecock staff liking Tisdol as a linebacker prospect.

Auburn and Florida followed with offers of their own, and Tisdol had a great visit to South Carolina’s visit that put the Gamecocks well out in front here. One angle to watch is that Tisdol is slated to visit Georgia this coming weekend; will be interesting to see if the Dawgs also extend an offer. Tisdol was mulling making an early commitment on the heels of his trip to South Carolina, but told GamecockCentral.com recently that he’s looking to wait until baseball season now.
