Team Information
Still no definitive word on Kenny McKinley’s status for the game, and the coaches/doctors may not know for sure until they see how his hamstring is the morning of the game. It will likely be a game time decision.
Wide receiver Joe Hills continues to impress in practice and should definitely be a part of the rotation on Saturday.
I have confirmed the move of Chris Hail to wide receiver. Mark Barnes will see his reps increase as the result of Hail’s move.
All signs still point to Jamon Meredith starting at left tackle, but they could shift him to left guard and insert Jarriel King at left tackle if Lemuel Jeanpierre struggles. One thing that will Jeanpierre is the absence of Georgia’s top defensive tackle Jeff Owens, who is out for the year due to injury.
Two familiar faces to Carolina recruitniks - Corvey Irvin and Jarius Wynn -will both see a lot of reps on Saturday. Wynn is one of the starting defensive ends, while Irvin replaced Owens in the starting lineup following his injury.
Other starters for Georgia that the Gamecocks were once heavily involved with include sophomore offensive lineman Clint Boling, true freshman wide receiver A.J. Green, true freshman offensive lineman Cordy Glenn, SAM linebacker Darryl Gamble, and strong safety C.J. Byrd.
I believe the interior of Georgia’s offensive line is an area the Gamecocks should be able to exploit if their defensive line can rise to the occasion.
