The Gamecocks are hiring veteran Joe DeCamillis as special teams coordinator, replacing Pete Lembo who was just hired as head coach at Buffalo. DeCamillis was special assistant at Texas.

Maybe, but this coach never played football, he was an All American wrestler for Wyoming.

It was my senior year of high school and I had already submitted my application to South Carolina. It was the year we won the ACC Football Championship — I had gone to a couple of home games and was well aware of almost all of the players. Memorable year indeed.

Great Memory. My Sr, year in high school, 1982, all I remember is the coaches.
Foster was in his second year behind McGuire and our team sucked.
Richard Bell had been moved from DC to replace Carlen as the HC and we just got worse there too. Bell only lasted one season and we hired Morrison to turn that back around but sadly that didn't last long either.
