Thought for sure he would go higher. With that fastball and he hasn't fully matured yet. I know he's gone, but I would seriously have to consider another year if I am him. Move up in top 3 rounds and increase your sign on bonus by 2-300k.

I was really shocked that Barnes, the Clem pitcher from Sumter, went as high as he did. Every time I saw him pitch he got rocked.
Yep, MLB batters can catch up to 98 mph fastballs if that's all you have. Needs to mix it up and find an offspeed pitch.
He did show a slider but it wasn't effective and really didn't move that much.
Closer mentality also maybe a little bit lacking. IMO, he should have been moved into a starting role. Might have increased his draft stock.
I agree, who would draft him in front of Johnson????? And Johnson had a breaking ball last year. A changeup can be taught, but the heat is a God given talent.
