I found this part interesting:

"So let’s recap, shall we? Williams is considering a program in turmoil the past 2 seasons (LSU), and another that’s on top of college football but has a history of strange quarterback management.

Or USC, a program that, when right, will dominate the Pac-12 and be a fixture in the Playoff."

Or, said another way, he's choosing between two programs that have both won championships in the last 3 years and one that hasn't yet made it to the playoff. Seems like the writer makes a number of assumptions in that last paragraph that he expects Williams to accept as fact.
