It's freaking cartoon sketch looking piece of s#!t. It's not a throwback, it's something new. I saw a still photo of the helmet a little while back. I didn't think they were serious about it. Just something else others can poke fun at us for doing. It's got to be a joke.

Exactly, its called a purchase order followed by a bill that gets paid. UA is a fan of this behavior in many areas.

In all honestly, Gameday Garnet was pretty damn close.When you're Penn State the coach comes in and doesn't touch the uniform. When you're SC the new coach comes in and screws around. It is what it is. Eventually we will hit that magic undefeated combo and never touch it
I could live with that (instead of my beloved 1987 combo), and Stormtroopers on the road.
It makes sense to ponder the only football conference championship we have EVER had, and the helmet we wore when we won it. Will we wear it, doubt it. But honoring it and trying to rekindle the championship pride, is worth doing.
I just seem to think that garnet jerseys, white pants, and either white or garnet helmets represent our traditional home uniform look more than any other. Its been the most prevalent over the years.
I generally do not concern myself with uniforms, combinations, etc. But I will say this takes me back to when I was very young and seeing this logo on merchandise (footballs, lampshades, etc.) and being incredibly excited about the Gamecocks ... as a result, I would love to see that helmet back for one game ... having said that, just WIN in whatever uniform and helmets you put on ...

Do y'all care about winning or looking pretty? I don't care if we wear a leather helmet with a hen on the side just make us proud by whuppin' some asses.
They pay us to wear their stuff. The designs are marketing for them. The more we wear, the better as it draws more attention to the uniform. It’s marketing. We aren’t purchasing uniforms. It’s part of the contract.

Remember when Spurrier came here and did basic touches like asking the gray concrete in the stadium to be painted garnet? This is the guy that nicknamed "The Swamp." Winning/football tradition includes a lot of elements. It all matters jim

That helmet is from the ‘Pepsodent’ Paul Dietzel era. About the time I started attending USC games, late 1960’s.

It was a joke for social media according to JC. We’re not going with that helmet. He seemed to indicate that Beamer would be traditional with white away and garnet at home with occasional black jerseys
No offense Jim but I will take Steve Spurrier's word for it. He won a Heisman, coached a Heisman, won an ACC at freaking Duke. Dude knows about the many elements to a successful program; pay attention. You don't just show up and say "block and tackle." You pay attention to every little detail

I can’t do a damn thing about it if he’s seriously considering using that, but it is hideous and I hate it. Our logo is awesome the way it is and so are the helmets.

We already have a fine tradition in football it just sucks....lol. When Big George was running over people back in the day I never heard a fan say anything about how nice his helmet looked. I get the point but I just don't care about what pants or helmet we play in. JMO
I agree but alot of that money goes towards uniform style and 50 different helmet combinations to look good winning two or three games in .
I would argue it’s not a traditional appearance when it changes year to year, coach to coach and game to game. It’s more of a schizophrenic look.
Pretty sure your safe on the orange uniform. Don’t think we will be going that direction! 😂
