Lady Gamecock Softball #8 seed

Agreed, after A&M loss, i didnt think they would be that high. Was hoping a 11 or 12 seed.
That's exactly where I thought we would end up too. Another surprise was A&M moving up to get the #1 overall seed. First time ever I believe. Although we lost to them, it obviously helped us playing them in our last game.

And there ya go, our South Carolina Lady Gamecocks are 2-0 in their regional and are awaiting the winner of the loser's bracket where whoever emerges will have to beat them twice on Sunday to advance. Looking good so far. Go Gamecocks

Way to put the kiss of death on the big upset!! All tied up in 4th. David doesn't often slay Goliath but I hope it happens there.
They do have to beat Liberty twice though. Still a shot. On a side note, they do have a heck of a softball facility. I can see how they could attract top players.

Done deal that there will be at least three SEC schools at the WCWS as there are three Supers with two SEC teams playing each other. Beyond that, other conference player Texas plays Clemson, Tenn plays Nebraska and we play UCLA. Big news was aTm (the 1 seed) was upset by LIB. Play starts Thursday. Go Gamecocks

Huge upset of Texas A&M by Liberty.

I like our chances in an 8 team double elimination tournament given we have two quality pitchers. Gotta think we are set up better than most teams for that. Just got to get through this weekend.

Thank Goodness for our ladies’ programs, the men’s programs SUCK! Maybe football will be watchable.
How can fans be so tolerable of a sports program where none of the men's programs compete for any titles, I can't grasp that mindset. I'm not a huge fan of WBB, I have watched a few softball games, but a couple of women's sports teams competing nationally does nothing to satisfy the desire to be successful in the SEC and nationally. Basically, if USC can't compete for titles in major men's sports how can fans be happy? Have they just accepted mediocracy ?

I dont know of anyone who is or has been happy with how our men's programs have been.

I have very little interest in following our women's basketball team but I'm happy for those that do I guess. That said, I am ecstatic with what the softball team has done. What they have done is prove you dont need multiple years to build a solid program. Nor do you necessarily need SEC talent to compete in the SEC if you know what they heck you are doing (most of these girls are from Charlotte). It is good to see coaching rule the day and that winning immediately is indeed possible with the right hire.

I am not HAPPY, but the options are watch the Ladies win or the men lose. Unfortunatley I do both, So i am grateful the women are at least WINNING!!

Well said!

... and for the first time EVER, we win a Super Regional Game! 9-2 and we looked in control the entire game.
Even sweeter is it was against the team we beat out for the 8 spot. One win away from Oklahoma City.

a runner on third that would have ended it early (8 run rule). Great Game ladies!! The coach is "Easy on the Eyes" as well..

Ray wanted to play AD. We've all suffered from it.

That's on the coach Heard has not performed in the circle which allowed 2 runs, one on base, and Gress served up a home after coming back in to try to save it. I don't have a good feeling about this tomorrow

I never did like that recent rule change where they could re-enter a pitcher. The last thing the game needed was more coaching options. Now I really dont like that rule. lol

Clemson was eliminated by Texas. All ACC teams are now eliminated. That ensures at least 4 SEC teams make it to Oklahoma City... so far
