Not a great sideline coach year in and year out. He got a lot of kudos for all those roll-the-dice calls he made during his national championship year. Fact is, he was lucky as crap.. Since then, it has become apparent he used up all his luck that year, and they always lack imagination on offense, relying totally on athletic ability. Has he had a really topnotch quarterback in the last five or six years? IMO, Les has morphed into Less.Miles is the dumbest coach in football. The worst at clock management. In the peach Bowl a couple of years back, Clemson is out of timeouts and he THROWS three times incomplete when they haven't stopped Cecil the Diesel on the ground yet. He could have run out the clock. Clemson takes the ball and scores and wins. I knew then that Les was a certified dumbass. I didn't want him as a coach.
No way. That guy is dumb as a rock. His players have bailed him out more times than Latty and Clowney bailed out Spurrier, which was a lot!
Bailed out, not bailed on.WTF are you talking about? Latty never bailed on Spurrier!
Lots of people.Anyone who would fire a coach with his resume and performance this year is begging to not hire another coach. Who would go to a school where Losing 4 games in a season is a fireable offense?
If a coach, who has his team at 7-2, is in the hot seat, then that school has problems.
Bailed out, not bailed on.
That and the "offensive genius" named Cam Cameron has been running the offense at LSU since 2013. INot a great sideline coach year in and year out. For the 3rd time: Latty and Clowney BAILED OUT Spurrier. That means Latty and Clowney's physical talents and determination overcame some questionable coaching by Spurrier and staff. I hope this is more clear for you.Bull crap.
That kid gave both his knees for Spurrier and the school. Say what you want about Clowney bailing, but Marcus did not "bail", "bail on", bail out" or anything else.
He is Mr. Gamecock.
Miles is 62. That doesn't exactly fit what we're looking for in the next coach, does it? What does that give us, 4-5yrs before the "How much longer will he be there?" stuff starts up again?
If the report is true and his buyout is $15 million I think he might just retire. And then go into broadcasting. He'd be good at it.
Lol you're not understanding the difference between "bailed OUT" and "bailed ON". He's saying Latty and Clowney bailed out Spurrier and the coaches because they were special athletes and back then we didn't know just how bad our recruiting was becoming. Latty didn't run behind some all-world line and yet he made them look good because he was that good. Clowney wasn't on that great of a defense his last year but he made them look better than they really were. That's what we mean by they bailed out Spurrier and the coaches.Bull crap.

Wrong!!You don't have a buyout if your let go!
Wrong!!
"If Miles is terminated without cause before Jan. 1, he would be owed $15 million, payable over eight years (twice the time remaining on his current contract). His assistants would have to be paid roughly an additional $2 million for six months salary (thanks to the “Les Miles clause” in their contracts) for a total buyout of $17 million."

Meaningless little wordplay exercise to try score points on me somehow I guess. If they get rid of Miles, ie, let him go, he is owed a buyout. Then I suggest he retire.Wrong what? Did you read my post?
No argument, but every successful coach gets bailed out by his players - often. They are the ones who make the plays. For the 3rd time: Latty and Clowney BAILED OUT Spurrier. That means Latty and Clowney's physical talents and determination overcame some questionable coaching by Spurrier and staff. I hope this is more clear for you.
I think LSU and Bama may be hiring new coaches.
This is going to be the wildest coaching carousel ever.
Broadcasting? He is a NUTJOB! What's he gonna talk about? How the grass tastes at different fields? If the report is true and his buyout is $15 million I think he might just retire. And then go into broadcasting. He'd be good at it.
Cecil Colllins was at LSU before Saban. He was NOT playing for anyone when LSU and Clemson played in that bowl game. He was locked up. However, Les screwed the pooch on that last drive, just like you said. Three, THREE incomplete passes and hand the ball back to the team you're beating with time on the clock. WTF was that guy thinking?Miles is the dumbest coach in football. The worst at clock management. In the peach Bowl a couple of years back, Clemson is out of timeouts and he THROWS three times incomplete when they haven't stopped Cecil the Diesel on the ground yet. About 5-6, and more if he's winning.Miles is 62. That doesn't exactly fit what we're looking for in the next coach, does it? What does that give us, 4-5yrs before the "How much longer will he be there?" stuff starts up again?
I think your fans whould hope he can hold on one more year seeing as how if Da-Blo wins the NC every team in the country will be gunning for him.Is he on hot seat at LSU?
You guys could grab him, he might be looking for a change
About 5-6, and more if he's winning.
If you don't think his name would generate excitement your brain dead.
And he knows how to put together a staff that will recruit.
He would be much better than any other names being tossed around...except for maybe Smart who is the only "up and coming" type coach I'd hope we'd take a chance on.
Bailed outWTF are you talking about? Latty never bailed on Spurrier!
When Steve quit on the team, we were the best job available.
Now it sounds like we will be close to the bottom of the barrel.
