Hello all. Collyn Taylor coming to you live from Connor Shaw's intro press conference. Gamecocks introducing him as the team's new director of player development. Will Muschamp will be with him as well and can address other stuff as well.

Live updates to follow in this post, so all you have to do is refresh it.

--Marcus Lattimore is going to study abroad in Europe. Said that came up in December and the first guy to come to Will Muschamp's mind is Connor Shaw. Said USC has probably the most support off the field in the country. Said Shaw will be a mentor for this team and they're excited to have him come back into the program.

--Shaw is "really excited to be back" and is thankful for the opportunity. Said he knew how much he missed it in Sunday's team meeting. Said it's "not about" him and about developing building careers, mental health and building up the team off the field.

Said his first step is getting to know the team and the guys. Said he understands what they're going through and can offer his experience from his time at USC, the NFL and being a professional outside of football.

--This "hit home" for him. Said the timing really worked out and he's excited to work with this team. He always hoped to one day come back into the fold with this program.

--Said this program helped him understand how to be an adult and manage his time, etc. Said that's what he's hoping to help this team with. Will Muschamp said players know who Connor Shaw is and the success he had. Said Shaw is authentic and real and his mentorship will be huge for this young team.

--Shaw said his life has been a "road more traveled." Said he want to be there a "really, really long time."

--Said the biggest challenge when he was in school was understanding time management. His job is to help connect them to whatever they need to succeed.

--He "really appreciates" the job Marcus Lattimore's done. He's still a resource for Shaw. Shaw talked with Dylan Thompson already and Jack Easterby about how to help make his stamp on this team.

--Asked about facilities and said, "I joke our class helped fund this place." Said it's nicer than some NFL facilities he's been in. Said one of the biggest influences in his professional life was the sports psychologist in Chicago.

--Muschamp said Shaw's going to be a "tremendous asset" for the team's quarterbacks moving forward. Said it's hard for college guys to learn that and Shaw will help them kind of focus on the reality and the daily process of getting better.

--Shaw said he wants to always come back and impact his alma mater: "I love what they're building here."

--Oddly enough, Mike Bobo's father—George Bobo—trained Shaw. Joked Bobo never offered him.

--Muschamp said they hope to have a hire in soon replacing Coleman Hutzler. Said they've fielded a few phone calls the last few days as well knowing this was coming. Kyle Krantz is an option there.
