Hello all and welcome to the last double dose of midweek baseball of the year as South Carolina takes on Liberty at 7 p.m. Gamecocks (28-19, 11-13 SEC) only have one more midweek game left after this one, next week against USC Upstate.
Liberty (29-17, 14-7 Big South) is a solid non-conference opponent. The Flames are second in their conference and have beaten some really good teams in the midweek this year including Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina. It'll be a tough test for South Carolina tonight.
Chad Holbrook starting freshman Colby Lee (2-0, 4.34 ERA) tonight in his first career start. He pitched May 3 against Wofford. I like what he brings to the table: very good fastball and a really good slider he can backdoor on righty hitters.
Liberty is starting RHP Zach Clinton (1-1, 2.53 ERA) tonight.
